Housing navigation, answered.
Who is Ready Rooms?
Ready Rooms is a Texas nonprofit Housing Navigation, Housing Placement, and Housing Stabilization organization. We are not simply a transitional housing provider - we connect individuals to safe, affordable housing and coordinate the community resources (employment, legal, wellness, and benefits support) needed for long-term housing success. Ready Rooms is headquartered in Houston and serves clients statewide.
Who does Ready Rooms serve?
Individuals and families seeking housing, plus the professionals who refer them: hospitals and discharge planners, social workers, case managers, behavioral health providers, veteran service organizations, reentry programs, government agencies, nonprofits, and managed care organizations. We work with veterans, seniors, people with disabilities or IDD, people in mental health or substance use recovery, people leaving incarceration, and anyone facing housing instability - evictions, felonies, and limited income accepted.
How does Ready Rooms work?
One submission - either a self-referral from someone who needs housing or a professional referral from a case manager, discharge planner, or agency - starts a same-day review during business hours. We assess readiness, identify placement barriers, and match to the right housing option from our network, with status updates the whole way instead of a dozen phone calls.
Who can refer someone to Ready Rooms?
Anyone coordinating housing on behalf of a client can submit a professional referral: hospital discharge planners, social workers, case managers, behavioral health and substance use treatment providers, VA and veteran service organizations, FQHCs, home health and hospice teams, skilled nursing facilities, reentry and probation programs, domestic violence organizations, and government or nonprofit agencies. How long does placement take?
Referrals submitted during business hours typically receive a same-day review. Our target window for ready-to-place cases - meaning documentation and eligibility are in order - is 48 to 72 hours. Timelines vary based on funding, documentation, and bed availability.
What makes Ready Rooms different?
We accept the barriers other programs turn away: evictions, broken leases, criminal history, and limited income. One submission replaces a dozen phone calls, and Ready Rooms coordinates housing stabilization beyond move-in day - employment support, benefits navigation, wellness programming, and legal advocacy - so housing placement leads to lasting stability, not just a temporary bed.
Why should hospitals and agencies partner with Ready Rooms?
Unsafe discharge and housing instability drive readmissions and poor outcomes. Ready Rooms gives hospitals, behavioral health providers, and agencies a single, reliable housing navigation partner across Texas - reducing the time discharge planners and case managers spend calling around, and giving clients a documented path from referral to stable housing. When your team needs to answer "who can help my client find housing," the answer is Ready Rooms.
