Our mission

A Property Can Become More Than Real Estate

Ready Rooms is a nonprofit that helps people across Texas find affordable shared housing through a network of housing providers. Many of the people we serve live on fixed or modest incomes and need a stable place to land.

A home, building or piece of land may help support that work. Every property is different, so we review each one to understand whether and how it could fit Ready Rooms' mission and operational needs.

Questions

Donating property to Ready Rooms

Can I donate a house to Ready Rooms?

You can submit a house for Ready Rooms to consider. Each potential contribution is reviewed, and Ready Rooms decides whether to accept it based on its mission and operational needs. The form on this page is the first step.

What types of property can I submit for consideration?

Single-family homes, multifamily properties, townhomes and condos, residential buildings, land and other real estate. Submitting a property doesn't mean it will be accepted, but every submission is reviewed.

Can I submit an inherited property?

Yes. Choose "Estate or inherited property" on the form and share what you know about the estate. Inherited property can involve probate or other legal steps, so it's a good idea to involve your attorney as well.

Can property with a mortgage or lien be considered?

You can still submit it. Tell us what you know about any mortgage, lien or other debt. Those details affect whether a contribution could work, and we'll talk them through with you during review.

Does submitting my property obligate me to donate it?

No. Submitting the form only starts a conversation. It doesn't obligate you or Ready Rooms to complete any transfer.

Is a real-estate contribution tax deductible?

Ready Rooms can't give tax advice and doesn't promise any particular tax treatment. Whether a contribution is deductible depends on your circumstances and applicable law. Please consult your own legal and tax professionals before making a decision.
