Rosharon and Arcola sit next to each other on the southern edge of the Houston area, but on opposite sides of a county line. Rosharon is an unincorporated community in northern Brazoria County, where FM 521 and FM 1462 meet, about 20 miles south of downtown Houston. Arcola is a small Fort Bend County city of about 2,000 residents along State Highway 6 and FM 521, between Sugar Land and Alvin.
